Erie, Pa. – Interactive exhibit “Music” will celebrate percussive instruments and sounds of East Asian cultures. The exhibit will open at the expERIEnce Children’s Museum on Jan. 24 and will run until May 10.

Guests will have the opportunity to move and perform while learning about percussion from Chinese, Japanese, and Korean cultures. Traditional instruments and sounds will be showcased, with mirrors available to inspire dancing and movement to the music.

Highlighted items in the exhibit include a Chinese gong, hanging chimes, a Japanese taiko drum, traditional singing bowls, a K-pop stage for guests to perform on, and more.

The “Music” exhibit was developed by the Freeman Foundation in collaboration with the Association of Children’s Museums and the Fredda Turner Durham Children’s Museum. The project is part of the Freeman Foundation Asian Culture Exhibit Series, aimed at educating children about Asian cultures. The tour is sponsored by the Minnesota Children’s Museum.

Admission to the exhibit is included in the general museum admission of $12 per person, ages 1 to 101. Museum members receive free entry. Tickets can be purchased online or at the museum’s front desk.
